We’re incredibly proud to have achieved this certification, as it reinforces our commitment to sustainability and going beyond business norms.
It also means we’ve joined a select group of companies dedicated to prioritising people and the planet alongside profit.
B stands for ‘benefit for all’.
Certified B Corporations, or B Corps, are companies verified by B Lab to meet high standards of social and environmental impact. To certify, a company must pass the rigorous B Impact Assessment with a score of at least 80 out of 200.
Our score is 94.3
This measures the business’s impact on its employees, customers, community and the environment.
Points are awarded for governance, workers, community, environment and customers
For example, you achieve points depending on the ratio of female to male people in management. At Inntel, more than 55% of our managers are women, which meant we scored highly here. The scoring system also covers carbon offset measures and collaborating with other ethical businesses. We’re proud to partner with suppliers who share our ethical values.
A company must legally commit to considering its impact on the environment and society rather than operating purely for profit. This involves legally changing the wording of governance documents to declare this.
B Corp businesses must also change their corporate governance structure to be accountable to all stakeholders. And demonstrate transparency by publicly sharing their impact via their B Corp profile. Inntel has always been proudly transparent, independent and not answerable to a board of shareholders. Check out our B Corp Profile.
With so many big social and environmental challenges facing the world, working to maximise profit is simply not enough.
Achieving B Corp status is a key milestone for us, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to contributing to the environmental, social and economic well-being of the planet. But the journey doesn’t end here, as B Corps commit to continuous improvement. To maintain certification, companies must complete the assessment process every three years.
We will continue to offer innovative solutions to our clients so they can travel, rest and meet better and greener.
As a business we will continue to work hard to achieve our net zero roadmap and create a positive impact on our local community.
Our journey to B Corp status has taken two years to accomplish. However, Inntel’s’ dedication to becoming the best company for its employees, clients, and the environment ensures this is just the beginning.
“B Corp certification is a key milestone in Inntel’s 40-year history, and I am incredibly proud of this achievement. It reflects the hard work of our teams and our commitment to social responsibility and sustainability. We take pride in minimising our environmental impact while providing exceptional service and innovative solutions to help our clients meet their own sustainability goals. We are delighted to join this global community of the world’s most responsibly run businesses.”
“Becoming a B Corp demonstrates our commitment to using our organisation as a force for good and creating positive impact for our people, clients, suppliers and within our industry. B Corp certification underlines our dedication to not just business success but to the wellbeing of our people, planet and community. Our work does not stop here, we look forward to continuing to contribute to a more sustainable future.”
The B Corp community has a growing membership of the most responsibly run businesses in the world.
There are now more than 2,000 B Corps in the UK and we are incredibly proud to be counted among them in this collective movement for purposeful change.
